THE GENESIS

The Foundation was born from the idea of the internationally renowned Sardinian sculptor Pinuccio Sciola to carry out the more complex and planning activities of his work in an institutional manner, involving his heirs to give continuity and future to his work and his philosophy of life.

On 22 July 2016, two months after Pinuccio’s death, the Pinuccio Sciola Foundation was founded by his children Chiara, Tomaso and Maria.

The Foundation embodies the projects and the spirit of openness, hospitality, sharing and respect for nature and people that have been the founding values of Pinuccio’s entire “millennial” life.

The PINUCCIO SCIOLA FOUNDATION, an institution responsible for promoting the memory and the message of art of the sculptor from San Sperate who died on May 13, 2016 in Cagliari, was conceived by the international lyren owned artist in his last period of life.

The Foundation was founded by his children and embodies the projects, the spirit of openness, hospitality, sharing and respect for nature and people that have been the values that characterize the sculptor’s life. It continues to pass on Pinuccio Sciola’s art message, keeping alive and promoting the activities, contacts and international projects that the artist has built and supported through out his life: these are the objectives on which the main activities will be focused.

THE HERITAGE – The assets of the Foundation, initially, include the sculptor’s house and some of his most important works of which the heirs wanted to deprive them selves for the benefit of the institution. To carry out the ambitious projects, the contribution of people, companies, organizations and institutions that will want to support the many present and future projects will certainly be necessary.

THE STRUCTURE – Chiara, Tomaso and Maria, in close and continuous collaboration, are the founders and representatives of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Three different characters, with different ages, skills, attitudes and histories, which together will form the foundation of the Foundation. To carry out the ambitious projects they will be joined by those, friends and professionals, who – each in their own field – want to contribute to the realization of a dream. Enhancing skills and integrating diversity will be the strength of the team that will work together on the project.

The executive offices, which have a duration of five years, are established as follows:

Chairman of the Board of Directors – Chiara Sciola

Pinuccio Sciola was a traveler, a personanimated by a visceral need to know different places, people, places and cultures, but with the firm will to always return to his roots, to his land, each time enriched with new experiences.

He lived in San Sperate in the large Campidanese house on Via Enrico Marongiu, 21.

This house always had its door open and will be the head quarters of the Foundation and the basis of new projects with international significance and strong roots in the land of origin.

Transforming Pinuccio Sciola’s house into a museum that offers anyone the opportunity to enter his world to understand its origins, strength and ingenious simplicity, is one of the Foundation’s primary objectives.
